He won his first big medal as a 16-year-old at the 1995 WC, it was a bronze medal. He also has in his medal collection four gold medals from individual events at the World Championships in 1997, 2002, 2003 and 2007, and in 1996–2012 he received two gold, two silver and one bronze Olympic medals.
